10 Things to Help You Sleep Better

Much of this list is very common, some of the middle/ ladder items are my examples.

  • Don’t use electronics at least an hour before bed.
  • No caffeine for 6+ hours, or cut it out completely.
  • Sleep and get up at the same time every day.
  • Don’t nap, or take it early and keep it short. Under 30 min.
  • Turn down the temperature at night.
  • Read before bed, it puts me to sleep.
  • Listen to music or a podcast – but don’t sing to yourself. Just for background noise and something for your mind to kinda focus on besides your thoughts.
  • Focus on your breathing. Again, something for your mind to kinda focus on besides your thoughts.
  • Focus / think about something non-life related, something complicated. I’m a sci-fi fan, so I often think how to make faster than light (Warp) travel work.
  • Sleep in less. Along with lowering the temperature at night, wear less to help keep your body temp lower. Use covers and pull them up if you do get a little chilly.
